SU Canada partners with local churches to connect Canadians with Jesus and His Story. In 2005, SU Canada adopted Sports Ministry as our primary evangelism tool. Sports are culturally relevant, accelerate friendships and are conducive to sharing one’s faith. They also teach great values such as teamwork, perseverance and being coachable which translate well into our spiritual journey. Sports camps, family festivals, sports tournaments and unique activities such as bubble soccer, are some of the ways we help local churches connect with their communities.

Sports Camps are our largest ministry. To run camps we train Christian university students in children’s and sports ministry, then send them out in teams of four who travel together during the summer, running 30+ week long camps in different cities. Campers learn foundational skills in soccer, basketball and ball hockey. They’re also introduced to Jesus, and receive a New Testament and Bible reading guide that they learn to use during the camp. We’re thrilled to celebrate new children accepting Jesus as their Lord and Saviour weekly.

Community Sports Outreach events are designed to facilitate fun one day interactive activities for children, youth or families. Whether it’s the highly popular bubble soccer, a family festival, or a soccer tournament – we provide everything a church needs to host a successful event.
